2015 Spring SETI Supper

Saturday's SETI supper of local fare in support of Fruit Share Steinbach was a wonderful success!

Guests enjoyed grassfed beef & local pork tourtiere with a side of cold-storage preserved potatoes & carrots. The hit of the evening was the amazing beet & feta salad with local greens dressed with hand-pressed sunflower oil vinaigrette. The meal was served with two pairings of wine & mead from Killarney MB and capped off with a homemade preserved fruit crumble with artisinal local yogurt. The gathering ran well into the evening and was not only fun and delicious and interesting, but also beneficial for Fruit Share!

Thanks to host Dwayne Ginter for his inspiration and organization of the event, as well as his wife Alix, Rachel White-Simard, Jacinthe Wiebe and Huguette Vallee who provided (and served) the excellent meal. Special thanks to Art Rempel who provided a delightful accordion ambiance. This was a great opportunity for the organizers to seek out and support local area producers, including guest Earl Funk who graciously attended the event.
